Community Relations Committee:
The Community Relations Committee serves SHRM as its community service arm. Through this committee, members of SHRM can use their skills learned in their course work, SHRM meetings, workshops, etc. to those whom we can help in Philadelphia. These kind of events include resume workshops, mock interviews, interview skills for diverse groups. While SHRM strives to use our skills in our community work, we also commit to other events such as block clean-ups, helping out at local soup kitchens, and other general community outreach events. This committee is a great outlet for SHRM members to help people while growing their own skills outside of the classroom.
The Communications committee will be responsible for keeping our members up to date on our events, news, and everything else SHRM related at Temple. Working collaboratively with the Communications officer, this committee will be working with SHRM’s social media platforms and website to help get our message out to our members. This is a great opportunity to get more involved and test your creative abilities, including creating flyers and videos that will be sent to our members.
The duty of the Fundraising Coordinator will be to assist the Fundraising Director with creating, planning, and hosting fundraising events. In addition, the coordinator will assist with creating fundraising strategies and is responsible for supporting major fundraising programs.Furthermore, the coordinator in the development of fundraising goals and soliciting funds. This position will require at-least 4-6 hours of a student time per week to assist the Fundraising Director.
The Eportfolio committee is responsible for helping students create an eportfolio, which is required to accrue points. Eportfolios enhance a student’s professional image and create opportunities for potential employers to see more than what is listed on a resume. The committee works to help students display the proper information on these sites as well as provides technical support as needed. The eportfolio committee reviews submitted eportfolios and gives feedback to students based on the status of their eportfolio. Joining the eportfolio committee is a worthwhile commitment in that it is a great way to be involved with TUSHRM and to learn new skills using technology.
