SHRM Events for the week of March 14th – 18th

Here are the events for the week:
Wednesday, March 16th
This Wednesday will be a panel event with Willis Towers Watson. Joining us will be Brian Murphy – Risk Analyst, Robert Hoyt – Vice President, and Evan Todd – Assistant Vice President to discuss the pivotal role HR plays in the insurance industry. The dress for this event will be business professional. 
 
 
Thursday, March 17th
A job readiness workshop hosted by Mike Robinson, “Highly Effective Job Search Tips & Resources” will be this Thursday from 4 – 5:30 pm. If you would like to attend, please email jennifer.dewitt@temple.edu. We will be meeting at 3:30 outside of the HR department if you would like to travel together. The dress is business professional.
Semester Membership
If you are interested in semester membership please contact Phuong Nguyen at tud08114@temple.edu. Registration is $30 and will count for this semester, as well as 60 HRM points!
 
 
Relay For Life
Relay for Life is happening at Temple University on April 8th. Registration is $10 per person up until this date. If you choose to pay at the door, the price will increase to $20 per person. If you are interested in attending, please sign up through this link to join the TUSHRM team!

This Wednesday we have Sharon Boyle, President of TU HR, and Anne Callan, managing director of organizational development and learning at Public Health Management Corporation. They are coming to talk about how HR can be a non-profit strategic partner. This event is business professional.

Emerging Leaders Event
Philly SHRM will be having another Emerging Leaders Event. This will be on WednesdayMarch 9th at the ARAMARK Tower – 16th floor (1101 Market Street Philadelphia, PA 19107). The topic will be on Employment Law. They will be having a panel of 5 HR Employment Law professionals speaking about employment law related topics. Refreshments will be provided.

If you are interested in attending, you MUST register for the event here (http://phillyshrm.org/event/philly-shrm-hr-career-development-series-session-2-2/) as well as HRTrending on Blackboard.This is a point worthy event.

If you are planning on attending, I suggest that you register as soon as possible, since the event tends to sell out fast. More information regarding where we will be meeting up before the event will be given out in a later email.

FMA / PSO / TUIA – Lincoln Financial Event

Your members are cordially invited to the Lincoln Financial event. Lincoln Financial will be holding a panel discussion led by John Kennedy (Head of Retirement Solutions Distribution). They will present an overview of the company, elaborate on the internship and job opportunities, and engage in a Q/A session.

They plan on using this event as a networking and recruiting event for their summer and semester internships. They want to HIRE as many Fox Students as possible.
Attendees should bring their resume.
